With the roundStaub La Mer enameled cast-iron casserole, your slow-cooked dishes set sail without ever leaving the kitchen!
This Staub cookware combines the charm of a deep blue hue, the thermal power of cast iron, and a ridged lid designed to keep your dishes nice and juicy. Whether it’s slow-cooked meat, tender fish, soft vegetables, or golden homemade bread, it turns a family meal into a joyful feast!
This round cast-iron casserole is designed for even searing, cooking, roasting, and simmering. Its cast iron effectively retains heat and then slowly redistributes it throughout the pot. Once it’s hot, simply lower the heat and let the magic happen.
The true beauty of this Staub casserole lies within! Its high-quality matte black enamel coating—the brand’s signature feature—provides the ideal conditions for searing, frying, roasting, and caramelizing food. This surface enhances the development of delicious roasted aromas and helps create a deliciously crispy crust. Whether it’s golden-brown meat, roasted poultry, caramelized vegetables, or a rich sauce base, the matte black enamel handles hearty cooking with ease, all while withstanding wear and tear.
At Staub, the lid is more than just an accessory; its interior design features numerous small protrusions—the famous “pics”—that transform cooking steam into a continuous drizzle. As moisture condenses under the lid, it drips back down steadily and evenly onto the food, like a fine mist of aromas. This keeps meat tender and juicy, vegetables soft, and every ingredient full of flavor. The result is hearty, aromatic slow-cooked dishes.
The Majolica exterior finish gives the La Mer color a deep luster, making it ideal for going straight from the stovetop to the table. This cookware is compatible with all heat sources, including induction, and can also be used in the oven up to 260°C.
Three sizes are available:
Gradually heat your enameled cast-iron pot, add cooking fat, sear the food, then lower the heat for slow, controlled cooking. Use wooden, silicone, or nylon utensils to protect the enamel. It is dishwasher-safe, but hand-washing with a soft sponge helps maintain its beautiful shine longer. Dry the pot thoroughly before storing it.
Founded in Alsace, Staub cultivates French craftsmanship recognized by cooking enthusiasts and chefs alike. The brand works with cast iron using a traditional process, creating sturdy, elegant pieces designed to last.
