Each Yuzo blade is forged on a San Maï base, with 3 alternating layers of steel. The blade core is made of Japanese SLD steel, an alloy with a high carbon content (approx. 1.6%). This has a direct impact on the blade's hardness, since the harder the blade, the longer it will retain its sharpness. The top layer is made of stainless steel, protecting it and making it more supple, so that it is less brittle. For an impeccable finish, the blade has been hammered with attractive criss-cross patterns, the likes of which you don't often see. A highly polished finish adds to its elegance. Your yuzo knife will feature two handle finishes: the first is designed inolivewood, accompanied by a quince bolster followed by a white micarta ring for a warm-toned color gradient. The second is also designed in olive wood, and while its bolster is also in olive, it features a central ring in sequoia, surrounded by two white micarta borders.
