What type of chopper to choose?
There are several different types of chopper. The manual half-moon chopper is easy to use. It makes it easy to use a pendulum movement to chop any type of food. It is particularly effective for herbs such as coriander, parsley and mint. Its handles are often ergonomically designed for long, comfortable use.
The hand-cranked mincer is used more for mincing meat. Depending on the model, it can also chop vegetables. It's very practical, as it doesn't require much effort and can chop large quantities of food quickly. Ideal for professionals. The hand-crank chopper can be fitted with a number of interchangeable accessories, to be used according to the food being processed.
A stainless steel chopper is the best choice to prolong the life of your utensil. Stainless steel allows the chopper to withstand water during cleaning, and to resist the corrosion that acidic foods such as tomatoes can cause over time.
Mechanical hand-held mincers allow you to chop food efficiently by hand. They require no electricity, and can be fitted with a string feeder to save time and improve efficiency. They can also be designed in the shape of a pestle for simultaneous crushing and chopping.
Finally, electric choppers are the solution for professionals who want to chop large quantities of food effortlessly. More expensive, they are nevertheless more comfortable to use, and quickly grind even very compact meat. An electric meat mincer can grind up to 120kg of meat per hour.
