Sharpening leathers

A razor/knife leather is ideal for maintaining and polishing your blades. Indeed, it is useful for smoothing the edge of your knives or razors. Polishing on a razor belt is suitable for all blades, and is most appropriate for convex blades. Leathers are said to be "racket" type when placed on a hard support. With this support, it's easier to exert pressure on the blade, and so achieve better results when sharpening your knives. This kind of razor leather is ideal for polishing your Utensils when you're away from home, it's convenient to take with you and allows you to work on small razors as well as large knives. It's important to always keep the blade flat on the knife leather and to move the leather diagonally from heel to toe, always keeping the back of the blade in contact with the leather, to achieve optimum results. The tensioner leather will be the perfect intermediary, since you don't have to worry about the tension of the knife leather, which is set by the frame. What's more, if you inadvertently nick the leather, simply sand it down to make up for it. Discover all our maintenance products for polishing your blades, to ensure even more precise results!
