How to make ice cream?
There are several ways of making your own salted butter caramel ice cream, for example. The basic recipe involves mixing sugar and eggs in a bowl, and heating milk and a vanilla pod in a separate saucepan. Then stir in the 2 preparations and heat again until the mixture thickens and coats a spoon. Add cream and desired flavors. From here, you have two options. The easiest is to pour the cream into an ice-cream maker. This will mix and crystallize the ice cream until you get the perfect texture. If you don't have an ice cream maker, pour your future ice cream into a container or ice tray and place it in the freezer. After a few hours, scrape the setting mixture with a fork every 30 minutes. And there you have it! Whichever method you use, simply store your ice cream in the freezer.
Essential Utensils for serving ice cream
As sorbets and ice creams are stored in the freezer, it's important to have the right Utensils for serving them. The most obvious is, of course, the ice cream scoop. It's the ideal tool for scooping the ice cream you're about to serve. Using an ice cream scoop is simple. As the ice cream or sorbet is very cold, be sure to dip the spoon into a little hot water to create a thermal shock that will facilitate its insertion into the ice. Then scrape the ice cream and form a ball. All you have to do is place it in an ice-cream tub or on an ice-cream cone and repeat the operation as many times as necessary. If you choose to make homemade popsicles, it's important to bring your own popsicle sticks! Without them, it's very difficult to unmold and enjoy your yoghurt ice cream or raspberry sorbet. Finally, when it comes to cutting and serving your Yule log, which you make with an ice-cream mould, a sharp pie scoop is indispensable, as it cuts the ice-cream cleanly without damaging it. In fact, we've got plenty of ice-cream moulds for you to choose from!
