Financial mould

The financier is an institution in the world of pastry-making, so it's essential for all fans of the genre to have their own financiers mould. The financier is a pastry made from almond powder, in an elongated oval or rectangular shape. It's the perfect accompaniment to a cup of coffee or tea. Large or small, financiers can be used as desserts or mignardises. Originally, this small oval cake made with almonds and egg whites was produced and sold under the name of visitandine around the ^17th century in Nancy. Somewhat forgotten, it was finally revived at the end of the ^19th century when a pastry chef took up the recipe to offer his customers, who worked in finance, the chance to eat a cake without getting their fingers dirty. Eventually, it took on the name financier and adopted a rectangular shape in reference to a gold ingot! Now that you know all about the financier, it's time to choose your own financier mould to make these delicious little cookies yourself! If you're a pastry enthusiast, you can browse our entire selection of cake moulds right now!

WHICH MOLD FOR FINANCIERS?

Financier molds come in the form of a financial plate with several cavities for baking up to 25 financiers in a single batch. Silicone, non-stick, tinplate? Which to choose? Each of these financial molds has its own advantages, but they must also meet your expectations and requirements. If demolding is a pain for you, then a tinplate financial mold is not the best choice. Tinplate needs to be suitably buttered and floured before use, otherwise the dough will stick to the sides and unmoulding will be a problem! For this reason, you're better off using a silicone or non-stick financial mould. As well as being highly flexible and unbreakable, silicone is naturally non-stick. As a result, removing your cookies from the moulds is easy and trouble-free. The De Buyer financial mold and the Silikomart financial mold are silicone financial molds, both brands offering high-quality cake molds to make your pastry-making task easier! When it comes to non-stick molds, you can opt for Gobel financial molds , which are made from non-stick steel. The French manufacturer's molds are extremely sturdy and durable, and their PFOA-free coating ensures perfect release from the mold for even healthier baking!

FINANCIAL MOLDS: WHAT OTHER USES?

The financiers mould has cavities measuring around 10 x 5 cm, while the mini financiers mould has cavities measuring around 5 x 2.5 cm. This is a common size for cookies of all kinds. This means that the Financier mould is not just a mould for financiers, but above all a Kuchenform! For gourmet snacks, all you need is your whisk and your financier mould, and you're ready to start making pink Reims cookies, mini fruit cakes and individual brownies, for example!
