The rich history of Zwilling knives
The brand' s history began in 1731, when Peter Henckels presented the now famous name to the cutlery register in Soligen, Germany's cutlery capital. It is one of the world's oldest cutlery brands. Over the years, Zwilling earned its stripes by winning prizes at the London World's Fair in 1851 and the Paris World's Fair in 1855. Little by little, the brand opened branches in many countries, including France, the United States...This success story is explained by the quality of the knives manufactured, based on know-how that blends tradition and modernity. The Zwilling knife: innovative creative processes
To maintain its high reputation, Zwilling is constantly innovating. These include the FRIODUR cooling process, a cryogenic heat treatment in which steel is immersed in ice while still hot, to increase hardness and perfect the cutting edge. The Sigmaforge method is also a Zwilling hallmark: knives are formed from a single piece of steel, heated and then shaped into their final form.
