THE Staub COCOTTE: A TIMELESS CLASSIC
The Staub enamelled cast-iron cocotte is the most popular of all cocottes! A true emblem of French gastronomy, it has found its place in our domestic kitchens and in those of the greatest chefs. The Staub cocotte is characterized by its flat lid with internal spikes. This feature allows moisture to be captured during cooking and distributed evenly throughout the dish, constantly moistening food to keep it tender and juicy. The Staub cocotte comes in a wide range of colors: truffle white, cherry red, graphite grey or basil green. Whether round or oval, they come in a range of sizes, from mini cast-iron cocottes with a diameter of 12cm to 41cm for the largest cast-iron cocottes. What's more, they're ultra-versatile, as they can be used on any heat source: gas, electric, vitroceramic, induction and oven.
WHY USE ENAMELLED CAST-IRON Utensils?
At Staub, it's not just the cocotte that's made of cast iron! You can also find a cast-iron crepe pan or a cast-iron fondue set, for example. Enamelled cast-iron offers many cooking advantages, which is why it is so popular in the kitchen. Indeed, cast iron has the particularity of accumulating heat progressively and releasing it gently into the dish, allowing your preparations to remain meltingly tender, with all their flavors! What's more, cast-iron utensils are long-lasting and easy to maintain. If you're wondering how to clean a cast-iron cocotte or cast-iron cookware, it's very simple! All you need is a sponge and washing-up liquid to clean it gently. If food has stuck to the bottom of your cookware, soak it in hot water with a little detergent, then rinse. Finally, we strongly advise you to use wooden Utensils rather than metal cutlery, as they can permanently damage enamel. Properly used, these cooking Utensils will last you for many, many years!
