How to steam?
When it comes to steaming,pressure cookers and pressure-cookers are the Utensils of choice for vegetables, fish and meat. Both feature a high-pressure system for perfect cooking. They feature a fully insulated lid and a steam outlet valve. You'll find them in all sizes for individual meals or a large table. They can have two levels so you can cook several types of food without mixing flavors. The bamboo steamer basket is a very practical Asian utensil for steaming. Emblematic of Asian cuisine, it is often used to cook "dim sum" ravioli, "bao" Chinese bread, rice or Japanese gyozas. The basket has a lid and its bottom contains small slats on which the food is placed. To prevent food sticking to the basket, simply place a salad leaf, spinach leaves or a piece of baking paper on top. The size of the bamboo basket must be selected with care. The basket should be slightly smaller, or the same size as the pan, for maximum steam. Bamboo baskets can be stacked to cook different ingredients that should not be mixed. Foods requiring longer cooking times can be placed in the basket closest to the pot of boiling water. Glass and stainless steel steamers are also available. Certain accessories, such as thesteam insert, are practical solutions for steam cooking without taking up space in your cupboards. They fit over pots and pans, draining the food at the same time.
