In collaboration with his friend Jean-Pierre Sucheras, twice elected Meilleur Ouvrier de France, Pascal Jodas created the Actilam brand. Find out more about the Actilam T3 olive wood pocket knife below. These two friends have pooled their knowledge of engineering and cutlery to create this top-of-the-range knife, which can be compared to a work of art. The combined skills of artist and engineer have given birth to Actilam knives, made in France in the Thiernois basin.
The name of the Actilam "T3" range has a special meaning: the "T" refers to the word "Torsade" or "Twist", in reference to the twist-shaped spring on the back of the knife; and the "3" refers to the year "2013", when the first Actilam T3 knife was released. The designers wanted this model to be original, and the gamble paid off. The T3 knife features an original locking mechanism, while retaining a streamlined design.
The Actilam T3OL pocket knife features a blade in forged X50CrMoV15N steel, also known as 4116N steel. This steel concentrates a high percentage of nitrogen, considerably increasing the blade's hardness. Most other brands use Carbon to increase hardness, but here Actilam prefers Nitrogen, an alloy that facilitates sharpening and preserves the blade's stainless character. With hardness reaching 58 to 60HRC, the blade will retain its sharpness for a long time without the need for frequent resharpening. The rough forge pocket visible on the back of the blade is proof that the blade has undergone a forging process.
The inserts are made of olive wood, a noble wood with a warm, welcoming color that makes the knife authentic. The coil spring is the modern touch of this knife. The double side locking system is intuitive and fun: your cuts will be secure every time. Thanks to the clip, you can carry your knife in your pocket and take it outdoors*.
