Arkansas stone is one of the most famous stones in the world. As it is a 100% natural material, the grain of the stone can vary. The medium/thick grain of Soft Arkansas Stone is equivalent to 400-600.
This stone is known as the coarsest Arkansas sharpening stone. It can be used to sharpen a knife that is starting to become quite dull.
The stone comes mounted on an elegant wooden base. This holds the stone in place and prevents it from slipping when sharpening your knife.
