AU NAIN UP table set 6 steak knives 11cm

The Up knife was born thanks to the Dessine moi un couteau operation, which enabled French people to design an original table knife. The winning design would then be crafted by a master cutler. This Au Nain Up knife is the winner of the competition!

The winner of the competition, from among some fifty entries, was Eric Fréour (who specializes in graphic design). He submitted a knife design with clean lines and a timeless look. The design was examined by an expert jury made up of members from the worlds of gastronomy, cutlery and French cinema. The competition's patrons, Christian Constant and Yves Camdeborde, were asked to judge the knife's aesthetics, ergonomics and potential for large-scale production.

The Esprit de Thiers association aims to defend and promote the know-how and creativity of cutlers in Thiers, the cutlery capital of France.

The blades are made of Z40C13 stainless steel, a solid alloy that stands up to the test of time and corrosion. The smooth cutting edge ensures respect for the product being cut, as the blade cuts meat cleanly and precisely without tearing the fibers.

The handle is made of Pastello, an opaque plastic from the acrylic family. This material is renowned for its robustness and resistance to temperature variations.

The ergonomic shape makes it pleasant to hold. The full tang blade is set into the handle and secured by a single rivet. A long stainless steel bolster links the blade to the handle.

To preserve the knives' original appearance, we recommend washing them by hand and wiping them with a soft cloth before storing. C
