The Camillus Chunk folding knife is one of the brand's most robust knives.
Its blade, shaped like a small cleaver, is made of 420 stainless steel. This steel is often found in cutlery because it's easy to use and maintain, and offers excellent resistance to corrosion. Its hardness of 55 HRC makes it easy to sharpen when the need arises.
The blade benefits from a titanium treatment that boosts many of its capabilities. Firstly, it increases its resistance to corrosion. Secondly, the hardness of the steel is improved (which helps maintain good edge retention).
The blade opens thanks to the Flipper system, i.e. a small pin is visible when the knife is closed. Simply pull on it to release the blade. The locking system is introduced by an efficient Liner Lock.
The handle is made of black nylon reinforced with fiberglass. The whole is extremely robust, yet light and pleasant in the hand. The ridges on its surface make it non-slip. It has an integrated clip for attaching it to a belt, for example, and a small hole at the end of the handle for attaching a lanyard.
