Condor was founded in 2004, but its history goes back to 1787. It was born in one of the world' s cutlery capitals, Solingen, Germany. Today, its knives are made in El Salvador. Over the years, the brand has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the manufacture of swords and knives. Today, it is the benchmark for everything to do with machetes and outdoor knives.
The Condor Crotalus is a knife designed by Joe Flowers. This designer is behind most of Condor's designs. Joe writes for a myriad of magazines and is a regular contributor to the outdoor community, focusing on woodcraft and primitive living. His extensive knowledge of outdoor equipment has led him to share advice on its design and operation with numerous companies.
The Condor Crotalus knife features a blade made of high-carbon 1075 German steel, which has been heat-treated and annealed to achieve a Rockwell hardness of around 56 to 58HRC. The razor-sharp edge has been finished and polished by hand. The blade also features a black powder coating. This is a non-reflective coating with a texture designed for outdoor use, i.e. rust and abrasion resistant.
The Condor Crotalus 60202 survival knife also features a black and grey micarta handle, a material that's pleasant to the touch and guarantees a good grip.
Its full-silk construction makes it sturdier and more balanced.
The knife's blade, however, is not totally corrosion-resistant. As a result, it requires a minimum of maintenance, so be sure to clean it frequently and don't hesitate to apply maintenance oil from time to time.
The Crotalus Condor bushcraft knife is an excellent cutting tool designed to handle heavy-duty work as well as that requiring the utmost finesse.
And to make carrying easier, it comes with a MOLLE-compatible kydex sheath.
