The history of the Condor company began in 1787, but it wasn't until 2004 that the brand as such was founded. The company was founded in Solingen, the birthplace of German cutlery. Since then, it has outsourced internationally, and its knives are manufactured in El Salvador.
Over the years, CONDOR TOOL & KNIFE has undergone remarkable development in the design of swords and knives. Today, the brand is a world reference, if not the reference, for everything to do with machetes and outdoor knives.
The Bowie Condor Undertaker knife is the work of the famous Joe Flowers, the designer behind many of Condor's best knives. His extensive knowledge of outdoor equipment has earned him the trust of companies who call on him for expert advice.
If you're just looking for a piece that has no other purpose than to be displayed? That's not the case here at all! The Undertaker survival knife is meant to be used.
The Condor Undertaker Bowie knife features a clip-point blade in 1075 German carbon steel. This high-carbon alloy is strong and easy to sharpen. However, it is not totally rustproof, so be sure to clean the blade regularly and coat it with a few drops of maintenance oil from time to time. As for the cutting edge, it is hand-finished and hand-sharpened, which is what gives it its excellent sharpness.
At the other end of the spectrum, the handle is made of walnut wood and is shaped like a coffin: this is where the name Undertaker comes into its own. It is held firmly in place by 3 pairs of brass rivets. Walnut is a heavy, moisture-resistant wood, which comes in handy when you're out and about. There's also a double guard to keep your hand safe from the cutting edge.
The knife has a solid full tang construction, meaning that the thickness of the blade extends across the entire handle. As a result, it is much more resistant and offers greater stability.
The Condor Undertaker Bowie knife comes with a leatherette sheath with buckle for belt attachment.
