Romania - Legislation on the possession and carrying of knives

General Status:

Romanian law classifies certain knives as dangerous weapons based on specific characteristics.

Restrictions:

Prohibited in public:

- Knives with a fixed blade.

- Double-edged knives.

- Blades longer than 15 cm or thicker than 4 mm.

- Knives with a handguard.

Warning:

Carrying prohibited knives results in 1–3 years imprisonment or fines. Bearers must ensure their knives fall outside restricted definitions.
