Created in collaboration with experienced SERE operators, this Esee 5POR-006 knifefeatures a sturdy blade made of high-quality 1095 carbon steel. With a hardness of 55-57HRC, this alloy offers a robust, high-performance cutting edge that's easy to sharpen. Whether you're chopping wood to start a fire or cutting rope in an emergency, this knife is designed to meet all your needs. What's more, a powder coating is applied to the blade, giving the 1095 carbon steel extra protection against corrosion. However, it is important to note that this protection is not infallible. So, it's imperative to take care of your knife after each use to extend its life and preserve its optimum sharpness. With this in mind:
- Gently clean the blade by hand using lukewarm water and mild soap.
- Be sure to dry the blade immediately after washing with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid leaving the blade damp, as moisture can promote rust formation and corrosion.
- Carefully apply a thin layer of oil to the blade, preferably a non-toxic mineral or vegetable oil.
The handle of the Esee 5 survival knife is made of orange and black G10 3D, a composite of fiberglass and resin. This material offers excellent resistance to shock, heat and humidity. Its orange and black colors not only give the knife an attractive appearance, but also make it easier to locate in the event of loss. Measuring 14.3cm in length, this handle offers a secure, comfortable grip thanks to its non-slip texture and ergonomic finger grooves.
For transport, theEsee 5 comes with a protective sheath that also protects the blade from bumps and scratches when you're on the move.
