This knife features a Spleiner steel blade. This is an Austrian alloy similar to M390 steel, but with much greater strength. This steel is coated with a Stonewashed finish . This coating hides all traces of use and gives a more elegant appearance. Spleiner is also sensitive to oxidation. It is therefore advisable to dry the blade thoroughly after use.
Another appreciable feature of this B40.CVG is its micarta handle. Its angular design offers a perfect grip. What's more, the construction is full silk. This means that the piece of steel that makes up the knife extends all the way to the end of the handle.
The great thing about this knife is that it's really handy for lighting a campfire. In fact, a flat rear tang allows you to make sparks by scraping it against the striker. This maneuver can be performed even if the knife remains inside its leather sheath (supplied) for safe use.
