The whole unit is made from a blend of stainless steel and transparent polymer: these two materials have the advantage of withstanding the tests of time (such as oxidation or temperature variations), and are easy to maintain. In fact, you can put the bowl, strainer and disc in the dishwasher (but not the lid).
