This knife was created thanks to the collaboration between American Longbow expert Byron Ferguson, renowned Austrian archer Peter O'Stecher and the Wildsteer brand.
Byron Ferguson's desire was for a versatile French knife with a strong, powerful blade, suitable for both hunting and outdoor activities. Thanks to its high-grain shape, the blade is extremely sharp.
The knife's smooth, drop-point blade is made of X46Cr13 stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant metal alloy. With a Rockwell hardness of 54-55HRC, it has good cutting power and is easy to sharpen. The blade features a half-guard, emphasizing user safety.
The Cocobolo knife's handle is ergonomically designed. It features a guard and thumb block, making it very comfortable to hold. Made in France from"Stabiliwood", a stabilized wood created by the company. Its beautiful reddish color and unique grain distinguish it from other types of wood.
The knife is supplied with a vertical-port leather sheath, offering rapid insertion and removal of the blade. However, the sheath has been upgraded to include a stronger, more durable belt loop.
Wildsteer knives are made in France, in an area between the town of Thiers, considered the benchmark for French cutlery, and Saint-Étienne, renowned for its design expertise. The brand draws its inspiration from the craftsmanship and artistic techniques of these two towns, while incorporating innovative, contemporary methods into the manufacture of its products.
