Created by Pascal Jodas with the help of his friend Jean-Pierre Sucheras, twice elected Meilleur Ouvrier de France, the Actilam brand includes the Actilam T3 pocket knife. These two friends and accomplices have pooled their know-how and skills to create a luxury knife that resembles a work of art. The knowledge of the artist and the engineer gave birth to Actilam knives, made in France in the Thiernois basin.
The Actilam T3 range of folding knives is not so named by chance. The "T" refers to the word "Torsade" or "Twist", a reference to the helical spring on the back of the knife; the "3" refers to the year "2013", the release date of this famous folding knife. The aim of the inventors was to create an original model with an original mechanism, while maintaining clean lines.
This Actilam T3FC pocket knife features a blade in forged X50CrMoV15N steel, also known as 4116N steel. This steel is enriched with nitrogen, which considerably increases the blade's hardness. Actilam chose Nitrogen rather than Carbon (2 elements that increase sharpness) to facilitate sharpening and preserve the blade's rust-resistance. With hardness reaching 58 to 60HRC, the blade will retain its sharpness for a long time without the need for frequent resharpening. The rough forging pocket visible on the back of the blade proves that a forging process has been used.
The inserts are made of carbon fiber, a lightweight material with a squared-off appearance found mainly on top-of-the-range knives. The coil spring is the modern touch of this knife. The double side locking system is both intuitive and fun: it guarantees safety with every use. Thanks to the clip, you can carry your knife in your pocket and take it with you on a picnic or out foraging. For meat-lovers, the sharp edge will cut a good slice of steak extremely cleanly!
