Mcusta designs its knives in the town of Seki, the cradle of Japanese cutlery. The brand combines traditional Japanese know-how with cutting-edge technology. This combination makes it possible to offer more technical knives, laser-cut for perfect precision. The traditional Japanese craftsmanship is not lost, as each knife is finished by hand.
This Mcusta Tsuchi MC.114D knife is an original creation, an ideal gentleman's knife!
The 8.3cm blade has a core of VG10 steel, a Japanese steel with a high carbon content that remains stainless. The high carbon content gives the blade a hardness of 60 HRC, giving it a razor-sharp edge. This core is protected by 66 layers ofDamascus steel, softer layers of steel that balance hardness and flexibility. The result is a highly aesthetic interlaced pattern. The upper part of the blade is also hammered, a design that is sure to please fans of Japanese knives.
The blade has been hand-sharpened by an experienced Japanese cutler. The cutting edge is therefore irreproachable and certainly more powerful than an industrial knife! The edge is also long-lasting, so there's no need to re-sharpen frequently.
The hammered stainless steel handle is a real eye-catcher, both visually and in the hand. When the knife is closed, only the hammered part of the blade is visible, blending in perfectly with the handle. A clip on the handle allows you to carry the knife without a sheath - simply clip it to your belt or pants!
The blade deploys smoothly thanks to the double thumb stud (suitable for right- or left-handed use). The frame lock locks the blade perfectly in the open position, so you can use your knife without risk.
Like all Mcusta knives, the Tsuchi MC.114D features a particularly high level of technology. In view of the excellent overall quality of this knife, it represents good value for money.
