Discover the Actilam brand, created by Pascal Jodas, passionate about knives and modern techniques. In collaboration with Jean-Pierre Sucheras, twice elected Meilleur Ouvrier de France, he created the Actilam S4 folding knives. Following the success of the T3 range created in 2013, they designed this S4 model, a knife featuring an original patented locking system. All Actilam knives are made in France, in the town of Thiers, the cradle of French cutlery.
The Actilam S4 locking knife features a blade made from forged 14C28N steel, also known as Sandvik Swedish steel. This steel contains a high percentage of nitrogen, carbon, molybdenum and chromium. The most important element here is nitrogen: like carbon, it improves the blade's cutting performance and hardness, but unlike carbon, the blade remains stainless and easy to sharpen.
The inserts are made of 2 materials: steel and a special wood called ipe. This wood, known as Ironwood in French Guiana, is naturally rot-proof. It is often used for decking, making it one of the strongest and most durable woods in the world! The clip is discreet but useful, so you can attach your knife to your pocket and take it with you on picnics in the great outdoors. The cylindrical locking system on S4 knives is unique and patented. To fold the blade, press the button, and a rod shifts to unlock the knife.
To ensure quality worthy of the brand, all controls are carried out in-house. This knife combines all the qualities sought after by knife users: precision cutting, long-lasting sharpness and ease of sharpening.
