This Boker Sherman EDC pocket knife features a CPM-Magnacut blade. This is a revolutionary steel nicknamed "miracle steel" in the cutlery world. Unlike "conventional steels", Magnacut has been specially designed for knife making. It successfully resolves the trilemma between edge retention, toughness and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its chromium composition (10.7%) and an impressive hardness of 62-63 HRC, this material offers a fine microstructure guaranteeing remarkable resistance and resilience to impact. The addition of nitrogen, via a sophisticated heat treatment, also plays a crucial role in achieving these contradictory properties, making this stainless steel particularly suitable for everyday use.
Another unique feature of this Sherman EDC 110665 model is the flipper opening mechanism, subtly integrated into the contours of the knife, allowing the blade to unfold smoothly with a slight impulse. Thanks to the knife's integrated ball bearing , the blade opens alternately via the thumb stud and locks into place with a sturdy titanium framelock in stonewashed finish. To prevent over-extension of the lock, an overdrive stop is cleverly integrated.
A carbon-fiber handle makes it easy to grip, offering both lightness and robustness. And that's not all: the handle is also complemented by a milled titanium clip (tip-up/r) with a steel ball, adding attractive functionality and aesthetics.
To top it all off, this Böker Sherman EDC knife features a Damascus backspacer. This material is forged by Chad Nichols from materials recovered from the production of an armored vehicle.
