The famous Böker cutlery brand brings you this Japanese-inspired cutting gem. Indeed, Bokër revisits the Higonokami model, the mythical pocket knife, noble descendant of the "Katanas" which became widely democratized in the land of the Rising Sun in the 1960s.
The blade is fashioned from damascus steel, an alloy highly prized for its aesthetics marked by beautiful undulations and patterns, as well as for its interesting mechanical properties. Obtained from a unique hot-forging process based on the superposition of multiple "sheets" of steel, both soft and hard, the damascus blade offers one of the best compromises between cutting edge hardness and corrosion resistance. What's more, the shape of the blade, with its inverted Tanto profile, is highly original, giving it the look of a miniature saber.
The opening system is the Piedmontese one: a simple press on the "Chikiri" lens tilts the blade to unfold it in its entirety.
The handle, meanwhile, is designed in "washed" style steel, its color perfectly matching that of the blade, giving a nice uniformity to this little outdoor knife. The reverse side of the handle is engraved with Japanese symbols, and there's an eyelet at the end of the handle for attaching a lanyard.
