Its 420HC stainless steel blade ensures strength and corrosion resistance. What 's more, Buck has applied a special Paul Bos heat treatment to considerably increase the hardness of your tool. The aim of this treatment is to give the blade greater endurance and better wire holding. This rigorous process consists of heating, cooling and then reheating the blade once more until it reaches a minimum hardness of 58HRC.
The knife is said to be full tang. This means that the extension of the blade embedded in the handle runs the full length of the handle, for added strength.
The handle is made of phenolic resin and features a pommel that can be used as a hammer. It also features finger grooves for a firm grip. The handle also features a guard to protect your hand during use.
For ease of carrying, a genuine leather sheath is included with the Buck 105 Pathfinder knife.
