In 1993, a number of guthook knives were launched, but failed to capture the hearts of connoisseurs. Cj Buck, a fourth-generation family member and the firm's current CEO, helped design a knife with a guthook profile that lived up to the family's prestige and the needs of its enthusiasts.

The Buck 191 Zipper 0191BRG knife features a guthook blade in 420HC stainless steel. This style of blade has a big advantage in making your cuts easier, which is why it's so popular in the hunting world.

420HC steel is not only corrosion-resistant, but has also undergone Paul Bos's signature heat treatment. This treatment is designed to increase the hardness of your blade. First, the blade is heated, then cooled, then heated again, and so on. This process is repeated until the desired Rockwell hardness is achieved. Your Buck Zipper has a hardness of 58HRC, a good compromise between robustness and ease of sharpening.

As for the handle, Buck has opted for an aesthetically pleasing material: walnut wood. This material is strong, stable and resistant to oxidation. And since wood is a living material, each piece has its own unique grain. This is sure to delight collectors. The handle incorporates a guard to ensure your safety during use, as well as a knob that can also be used as a hammer if required.
