The Fukito Ebony Damascus VG10 set has been designed to meet the essential needs of everyday cooking, bringing together two complementary knives that combine performance, comfort and aesthetics. Fukito knives are made in Western China, in the Guangdong province, a region historically renowned for knife production over many decades. Each model is crafted using techniques and materials that meet the standards of the professional food industry.

This set is the ideal basis for equipping yourself with reliable, precise knives, while retaining the option of adding other models from the Ebony Damascus VG10 range at a later date.

Two complementary knives for everyday cooking

The Fukito Ebony Damascus VG10 set includes a 9 cm paring knife and a 20 cm chef's knife, two essential sizes to cover the vast majority of kitchen cuts. The paring knife is particularly well suited to precision work, such as peeling or cutting small fruits and vegetables. The chef's knife, on the other hand, offers a versatile blade length, ideal for efficiently slicing, chopping or mincing a wide variety of foods.

The combination of these two knives makes it easy to tackle everyday preparations, with complementary tools that are well-balanced and pleasant to use.

High-performance, long-lasting VG10 damascus blades

The blades of the Fukito Ebony Damascus VG10 knives are based on a damascened structure, designed to balance cutting performance and durability. The principle consists of forging a rigid central core, responsible for the cutting edge, then surrounding it with several layers of softer steel to protect this core and improve the blade's tolerance to use.

The core is made of VG10 steel, an alloy produced by Takefu Special Steel, renowned for its performance. Its carbon content of around 1% enables a hardness of around 60 HRC on the Rockwell scale, guaranteeing a precise cutting edge and excellent edge retention over time.

Around this core, 66 layers of softer stainless steel reinforce the blade's overall strength and limit the risk of breakage in use. The superimposition of these layers creates fine, random damascene patterns, visible across the entire cutting surface. The blades are also hammered, which adds character while limiting food adherence during cutting. Finally, their rough-forged finish reinforces their authentic visual identity.

Elegant, ergonomic ebony handles

The handles of the knives in the Fukito Ebony Damascus VG10 set are made from ebony wood, a dense, robust and durable exotic species. This wood offers excellent resistance to humidity and warping, while featuring an elegant dark color, underlined by a discreet natural grain.

Each handle is complemented by a stainless steel bolster and base, which contribute to the knife's overall balance. Two gold edgings create an elegant transition between the different elements, while a decorative mosaic rivet reinforces the solidity of the assembly and adds an additional aesthetic touch.

The hexagonal shape of the handle is designed to suit both right- and left-handed cooks. It ensures an ergonomic and stable grip, particularly appreciated during long preparation sessions.

An elegant box for protection and gift-giving

The knives in the Fukito Ebony Damascus VG10 set are presented in a magnetic box, designed to provide effective protection during storage. This neat presentation also makes it an excellent gift idea for a passionate cook. A blade-cleaning cloth is included for easy maintenance.

To preserve the qualities of the knives, we recommend washing them exclusively by hand with a non-abrasive sponge, avoiding wetting the handle. After washing, knives should be wiped dry immediately and stored in a dry place. The dishwasher and prolonged soaking in the sink should be avoided to preserve the blade and handle over time.
