It's not just practical, it's also aesthetically pleasing. Each bar is designed by passionate wood craftsman Romain Abeille. Working on a single bar takes many days, but the result is as good as it gets. And it's important to point out that the wood used by this craftsman comes from a certified responsible source.
Romain chose cypress wood to make this beautiful bar magnet. To do this, he looks for the most beautiful trunks to highlight the burls and veins of each piece of wood. But what is a burl? It represents the various knots visible on a slice of wood. The origin of a burl varies: it may appear on the wood following a wound, an insect bite, a localized influx of sap... This explains the uniqueness of each bar, which has its own history.
This very hard wood has the advantage of a magnificent contrast of colors, which gives it a lot of character.
The Japanese Shu Sugi Ban technique can be seen randomly on the surface of the bar. What is this technique? Also known as Yakisugi, it involves burning solid wood to increase its strength. Initially, it was used on houses to protect them from the harsh Japanese climate. Burning wood not only protects it from fire, but also from insects and mildew! In addition to giving the wood strength, this technique gives it real character.
For an impeccable finish, each magnet bar is polished to a soft touch. Finally, the craftsman's logo is pyrographed onto the wood.
The powerful neodymium magnets are positioned on the back of the bar. They are nickel-coated and rustproof, then cast into the resin. Each knife slot has 2 magnets. This enables the blade to be pressed against the surface of the wood, preventing it from slipping.
This bar allows you to display 6 kitchen knives.
To secure the magnetic bar to the wall, use the two side slots to insert the fasteners (fastening system not supplied).
