The Essences Creations magnetic bar isn't just an accessory for storing your knives: it's a veritable work of art!
First of all, let's talk about the practical aspect: it's not always easy to store your kitchen knives (especially if you have a very small room): drawers full, not enough space to put a block on the workspace...So the magnetic bar is the perfect solution!
Here you have a completely hand-crafted bar: it's made by Romain Abeille, an enthusiast with golden hands.
To create this unique bar, he chose padouk wood and part of its sapwood. Padouk is the wood with the most superb vermilion hues, and it's the one that gives this magnet bar all its character. It's an exotic wood with a beautiful grain. Sapwood is in fact the soft part of all woods, found in oak, etc. Here, the padouk sapwood is the light part, contrasting beautifully with the red of the top.
Each magnetized bar is polished for a soft, pleasant feel. The ends can vary according to the wood's curvature and knots.
The magnets are placed on the back of the bar, reinforced with resin. Each knife is held in place by a magnet at the top of the bar, and a magnet at the bottom. The result is indisputable: the knife sticks perfectly to the smooth wood surface. This bar can hold up to 6 kitchen knives.
The back of the bar has two screw slots for wall mounting (fastening system not supplied).
For an impeccable finish, Romain Abeille has pyrographed his logo on the ends of the bar.

As the bars are unique, it's impossible to predict their visual appearance in advance. For example, from a piece of rough wood weighing around twenty kilos, it's possible to obtain only 2 or 3 usable pieces, as the appearance of the wood can differ from one section to another. It is therefore not possible to choose the aesthetics of the bar you order, and this is what makes a handcrafted piece so beautiful!
