This magnificent Fallkniven Embla hunting knife has been designed in accordance with the fundamental principles of Swedish minimalism. This means that its design is characterized by simplicity, cleanliness and functionality.
In the AESIR story, the gods Oden, Höner and Lodur created the first people by giving life to two tree trunks they found by the sea. One was an ash named Ask and the other was an elm named Embla. The gods granted special abilities to these two beings, such as understanding, agility, emotions and wit. To this day, some 1,500 Swedish women bear the name Embla. The name is mentioned in the Edda, a thousand-year-old collection of mythological and heroic poems.
Fallkniven has incorporatedCos laminated cobalt steel, renowned for its excellent ability to hold its cutting edge , into the design of the blade. The Fällkniven Embla hunting knife has been specially designed to work on large game such as wild boar, deer or elk. As such, it's crucial that the knife's blade remains razor-sharp to avoid the need for frequent sharpening. The core of the blade is made of very hard CoS steel. While the outer layers are made of corrosion-resistant, softer steel, offering a combination of flexibility and strength.
The SK2 Embla is an excellent option for those looking for a knife that won't dull easily. What's more, the blade features a convex serration. This is the sharpest, most resistant edge we know today, and has been used throughout history.
For the handle, the brand has opted for desert ironwood. This wood is dense, hard and highly aesthetic. It does not float in water and can be treated with various types of liquids such as furniture wax or other products containing linseed oil.
When not in use, the knife can be stored in its black leather sheath, which is also supplied.
We also carry pocket sharpeners and guns!
