Henk Schiffmacher is a world-renowned Dutch tattoo artist. The son of a butcher's father, he developed a keen sense for recognizing and appreciating quality knives from an early age. So it was natural for Homey's to ask him to create a range of knives and products that would enable him to combine his passion for cooking, tattooing and butchery.

His work is mainly inspired by Polynesian tattoos, which are reputed to be the origin of many tattoo styles. Polynesians wear their tattoos with great pride, as they convey profound symbols. For example, the Niho Mano motif, which evokes the sharp teeth of sharks, adorns the blade of a pocket knife.

Here, the tattoo artist combines his Polynesian inspiration with the mythical Man's Ruin tattoo. This tattoo, which has stood the test of time, continues to adorn many bodies today. It embodies the passions of men that can lead to their downfall. Usually, a woman is the main element, around which are added smaller elements symbolizing play and drunkenness.

This fusion of style and symbolic tattooing brings you a box with a modern design that will suit all lovers of outdoor activities and sharing. The box contains 4 pieces, elegantly presented in a black case filled with protective foam.

Tools for the adventurous and the fearless

This Homey's by Schiffmacher set includes a top-of-the-range folding knife, a deck of cards, a flask and a Zippo lighter. Perfect for all adventurers in search of escape.

The pocket knife features a 6.5cm blade in corrosion-resistant, sturdy stainless steel. Its shape is directly inspired by that of the traditional Corsican shepherd's knife, characterized by a narrow blade at the top and a raised tip. The choice of such a blade is not insignificant. In Corsican farm life, a sturdy, versatile knife was indispensable for accomplishing many varied tasks. Henk Schiffmacher himself designed this knife as a tribute to the one he received for his 10th birthday.

The tattoo artist also designed the motif on the blade, inspired by Polynesian tattoos and in keeping with the rest of his work. It features a Niho Mano, representing a shark's tooth, a symbol of strength and power. As such, the blade conveys the idea that their razor-sharp teeth can effortlessly cut through anything.

The handle is made from walnut burl wood, an area of the walnut tree characterized by its many knots, giving each knife a unique visual appearance. Solid and moisture-resistant, walnut is ideal for knives intended for outdoor use. The wooden plates are firmly attached to the tang of the knife by two small nails.

An elegant brass-look bolster harmoniously links blade and handle. Featuring a small skull and crossbones, the Henk Schiffmacher symbol, it conceals the knife's Liner Lock mechanism, guaranteeing safe and secure use.

The special feature of this box is the exclusive Zippo lighter it contains. Zippo lighters are high-end lighters made in the USA. Henk Schiffmacher teamed up with the iconic brand founded in the 1930s to tattoo the lighter in this box. It features the mythical Man's Ruin tattoo on the front, and the tattoo artist's signature pirate head. This lighter is ideal for campfires or lighting your fireplace in winter.

A golden alcohol flask with a capacity ofapprox. 23cl is included in the box. Both practical and elegant, it features the same Man's Ruin design as the lighter, again by Henk Schiffmacher. It depicts Jade, a beautiful lady surrounded by elements such as a deck of cards, dice and a glass of alcohol, symbolizing the temptations of men.

Finally, the box contains a deck of 52 playing cards with designs reminiscent of Man's Ruin. Each card has been meticulously hand-drawn by Henk Schiffmacher. They are housed in an elegant black box adorned with the tattoo artist's characteristic golden pirate's head. The game is perfect for evenings out with friends, playing poker for example.
