This Old Bear knife (M model) features an 8cm blade in AISI 420 stainless steel, with a hardness of 54/56 HRC on the Rockwell scale. It features the Old Bear logo engraved directly on the cutting surface, for enhanced authenticity.
As this is a practical knife, the blade can be folded into the handle to save space and safety! It is secured by a brass ferrule, entirely hand-brushed by a craftsman. To put it simply, the ferrule is a sort of modular ring linking the blade to the handle.
To use it, simply turn the ferrule to unlock the blade so you can move it into the cutting position, or turn it in the opposite direction once the blade is folded, to lock it into the handle (this opening/closing system has been patented by the manufacturer).
Let's move on to the handle: it measures 11cm and is made from walnut wood. This dark, weather-resistant wood has a unique grain that gives it a distinctive look.
Of course, as this is a handcrafted knife, it's a unique model that may differ slightly from others in the range. This adds authenticity to the knife, which is an original model, and in no way detracts from its functionality.
Finally, the knife is supplied in a small cardboard box, for an extra rustic touch! Each box contains the quality control certificate signed by the craftsman himself. So you can make a great gift for a loved one (or treat yourself, too)!
