This ceramic stone has 2 sides. The first side is white with a fine grit. This is perfect for polishing your blade (finishing), while the grit gray side is ideal for regular sharpening of your knives, to maintain the edge and prevent it from becoming too dull.

a slightly more abrasive side for straightening, a thin side for a convincing cutting edge, a good grip, an ideal size to put in the backpack. it's an excellent stone and at 50 euros it would be a shame to pass it up.

I use them more for sharpening than for sharpening, in place of a rifle for example, but you can do it. However, I prefer Japanese stones for sharpening. Practical when traveling, I always carry them with me, and I have many friends with knives who never maintain them. For sharpening, if the blade hasn't suffered too much, the grey part does a very good job of catching up with a slightly tired blade, and you finish off with the white part. You can also use the leather sheath to refine the work. I don't recall seeing a non-slip base supplied. As the stone doesn't need to get wet, I usually place it on its leather sheath.

Much better than the fallkniven CC4 that I also have. An unbeatable razor-sharp edge. Perhaps 1cm more in width would have been welcome, but overall an extremely high-performance product. I only use it with leather for finishing.
