What is a kitchen compost bin made of and where should it be placed?
Compost garbage cans are available in a range of materials to suit all your needs. For example, you can buy a compost bin made from bamboo, an environmentally-friendly natural material with strong antibacterial properties. Bamboo is strong and rot-proof, so it prevents unpleasant odors from appearing in your kitchen. We also offer steel compost bins if you prefer. Thanks to this material, your indoor compost garbage can is strong and light at the same time, which is great when it's full. The compost bucket is specially sized to fit into your kitchen. You can place it under your sink, or on your worktop if you have the space and don't want to strain your back. It comes with a lid to prevent the spread of odours, and can only be opened twice a day. Some compost bins are fitted with a charcoal filter to reinforce their odor-control action.
The capacity of a kitchen compost bin is an important consideration when choosing the right one. This will depend not only on the space available in your kitchen, but also on the number of people in your household. If you live alone or as a couple, a 2 to 3-liter tabletop compost garbage can is sufficient. Note, however, that you'll need to empty your bin regularly if you choose this capacity. For larger families, on the other hand, this capacity is too limited. We advise you to opt for a kitchen compost garbage can of at least 5 liters, or even 10 liters, depending on the number of people. The aesthetic aspect of the kitchen compost bin should also be taken into account, as it's a zero-waste accessory that can be visible! Neutral tones such as beige or grey allow you to place your compost garbage can in any kitchen. But don't hesitate to choose a colorful compost bucket to add a touch of pizzazz to your decor!
