Master cutler Claude Dozorme is respected today for the quality of its folding knives. This Auvergne-based company, whose ancestral craftsmanship has been passed down from generation to generation since 1902, has never ceased to develop and innovate in this niche market, while retaining its authenticity and original values. It's no coincidence that the brand's famous "wolf" logo is a reference to the nickname of founder Blaise Dozorme, Claude's grandfather.
The Le Thiers Liner Lock knife series by Claude Dozorme comes in a range of handle materials, each as noble and elegant as the next, from olive wood to ram's horn. These knives are nomadic and versatile, designed to be taken with you wherever you go, whether as cutlery for a picnic or as a pocket storage tool for your wad of bills.
The liner lock opening and closing system incorporates a spring-loaded plate that locks the blade open, allowing it to be easily disengaged by exerting simple pressure on the plate. This flexible, secure and modern mechanism gives these knives a unique design: in the closed position, the entirely flat blade on the side of the handle remains visible.
The knife's blade is made of X50CrMoV15 stainless steel, giving it a high-performance cutting edge that stands up well to sharpening. Its resistance to impact is appreciable, since the composition of this steel enables it to achieve a hardness level of 56-57 HRC on the Rockwell scale. The manufacturing origin is engraved on the outer edge of the blade, guaranteeing 100% Thiernois basin production.
The handle is clad in clear horn, an organic material rich in keratin. Once worked, it becomes hard and waterproof, giving it appreciable longevity. Thanks to its natural veins, horn rivals authentic wood in aesthetic appeal.
Finally, a visual detail of the utmost importance: like wood, horn is a living material whose appearance can vary significantly from one horn to another, even within the same model. As a result, each piece is unique in its nuance and veining.
On the back of the handle, a multi-purpose 18/10 steel clip is firmly screwed in, enabling you to hang your knife from a shirt or bag pocket.
