Description

This elegant champagne saber is a truly original way to open bottles!

The sabrage technique originated several centuries ago, under Napoleon' s empire. Under pressure, the cork would pop open in a spectacular fashion, thanks to a powerful backhand stroke. The liquid flowed freely, and the party could begin!

Inspired by this ancestral custom, master cutler Claude Dozorme has used his French know-how to reissue a wide range of champagne sabers, reviving this tradition.

Sabering champagne isn't all that difficult (even if it looks complicated at first glance):

- Remove the corkscrew from the cork, and place it as high as possible on the neck (on the first groove above the neck).

- Locate the bottle seam (i.e. the junction between the glass parts, a horizontal line)

- Hold the bottle firmly by the bottom and place the blade thread flat along the seam

- Slide the blade from bottom to top, along the seam, to strike the bottom of the bottle neck with force.

- The cork will come off without forcing

This saber features a 34 cm stainless steel blade. It's far more resistant to corrosion and has a long service life. Its curvature is better suited to the shape of the bottle.

The handle is made of rosewood, for tenfold resistance to humidity and a unique grain. The blade is also half-silk, extending halfway into the handle and secured with 3 rivets for even greater strength. Finally, it features an elegant bronze frame with delicate curves.

Finally, this Claude Dozorme champagne saber is beautifully presented on its laminated oak base.

This quality saber makes an original gift and is an elegant accompaniment to any prestigious event!
