This GÜDE Damascus paring knife features nearly 300 layers of steel.
Combining high-carbon and nickel steel (5-6% nickel), the blade combines strength and flexibility.
Hand-forged by Markus Balbach.
One-of-a-kind: Irregular patterns make each blade absolutely unique.
After forging the 300 layers of steel into a single piece, Markus Balbach gives the blade its overall shape using a 1. 5-ton press. More than 40 steps are then required to finish the knife.
The handle of this knife is made from desert ironwood, a very strong wood with a beautiful grain and color. Its density is higher than water (it doesn't float).
The steel used is not stainless steel. Remember to dry your knife by hand after each wash. Do not put in the dishwasher.
