The Buck 791 Mini Range Pro folding knife features a compact design, a high-performance blade, and a comfortable grip!
Compact and ready for action
This mini version of the pocket folding knife features a 6.5 cm drop-point blade with a smooth cutting edge and a satin finish. This versatile blade geometry is ideal for small everyday tasks, outdoor prep work, and precise jobs that don’t require a large blade. Its 2.2 mm thickness offers a good balance between slimness and strength.
The blade is made of American 154CM stainless steel. Originally developed for demanding applications, this steel offers good corrosion resistance, excellent edge retention, and impressive strength for an EDC knife. It is also relatively easy to sharpen with the right equipment.
The 9.3-cm handle is made of FRN, or fiberglass-reinforced nylon. This material combines lightness, rigidity, and resistance to everyday wear and tear. Its texture ensures a stable grip, while its gray color gives it a sleek, modern look.
A compact knife
-
- Closed length: 9 cm
- Total length when open: 15.8 cm
- Lightweight: 55 g
- Reversible tip-up pocket clip
- Suitable for both right- and left-handed users
Designed for one-handed opening
The thumb stud on the blade makes it much easier to open the knife. Simply press down on it with your thumb to guide the blade into the open position. This feature is particularly useful during hiking, emergency situations, or small tasks that require keeping one hand free.
This feature, often called a thumb stud, also provides a precise guide for the finger. The blade opens smoothly thanks to phosphor bronze washers, designed to facilitate smooth rotation. The design is suitable for both left- and right-handed users, provided the grip is adjusted accordingly.
A secure and accessible lock
The Crossbar Lock relies on a crossbar installed inside the handle. When the blade is open, this bar rests against the blade’s heel and holds it in the open position. To fold the knife, both side buttons must be pressed simultaneously before guiding the blade into its closed position.
Usage Tips
Use this knife for tasks suited to its size: cutting string, opening packages, preparing small pieces of soft wood, or everyday tasks. Avoid twisting, using it as a lever, or cutting materials that are too hard. After use, clean the blade with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry it thoroughly. A drop of oil on the pivot and mechanism can help keep the blade opening smooth. Sharpen the cutting edge at an angle of approximately 20° on each side.
