This Homey's by Schiffmacher set contains a top-of-the-range pocket knife, a flask and a deck of playing cards, ideal for adventurers at heart.

The folding knife features a 6.5cm blade in solid, corrosion-resistant stainless steel. Its shape is directly inspired by the traditional Corsican shepherd's knife, recognizable by its narrow blade and raised tip. This choice of blade was not made at random. In Corsican farming life, a sturdy, versatile knife was essential to accomplish many tasks. Henk Schiffmacher, the world-renowned Dutch tattoo artist, designed the knife himself as a memento of the one he received for his tenth birthday.

Like the rest of his work, the blade features a design conceived by the tattoo artist and inspired by Polynesian tattoos. It features a Niho Mano, a shark's tooth symbolizing strength and power. The blade echoes the Polynesian belief that sharks' teeth are so sharp that they can cut through anything without effort.

The knife's handle is made from walnut burl wood, part of which has many knots, giving each knife a unique look. Walnut is both moisture-resistant and robust, making it ideal for outdoor knives. Two nails securely fasten the wooden plates to the tang of the knife.

An attractive brass-look bolster links the blade to the handle. Embellished with the Henk Schiffmacher symbol, it houses the knife's Liner Lock system, ensuring safe use.

The box also contains a gold-plated alcohol flask holding around 23cl. Practical and elegant, it features a design by Henk Schiffmacher of a lovely lady called Jade. Jade is surrounded by other elements such as a shot glass, cards and dice. These are the symbols of the Man's Ruin tattoo: the elements represent the weaknesses to which men can succumb, leading to their downfall. It's a very meaningful tattoo.

A deck of 52 playing cards completes the set, in keeping with the meaning of the Man's Ruin tattoo. Each card is hand-drawn by Henk Schiffmacher. The cards are housed in an attractive black box featuring the tattoo artist's golden symbol. The perfect game for poker nights with friends.

Henk Schiffmacher is a Dutch tattoo artist with an international reputation. His butcher father taught him from an early age to appreciate and recognize a quality knife. Naturally, Homey's asked him to create a range of knives and products where he could express his passion for cooking, tattooing and butcher craftsmanship.

His inspiration comes mainly from Polynesian tattoos, which are considered to be the origin of all tattoo styles. Polynesians wear their tattoos proudly, as they are loaded with profound symbols. For example, the pocket knife features the aforementioned Niho Mano motif, evoking sharks' teeth.

Here, Polynesian inspiration is associated with the mythical Man's Ruin. Its emblematic and timeless symbolism represents all the passions that can lead men astray in their lives. The main element is usually a woman, surrounded by smaller elements representing drunkenness and playfulness.
