DMT is recognized worldwide for its sharpening solutions. The brand produces top-quality products for hobbyists and professionals alike. In fact, this American firm has received many national and international awards for the innovation it brings to its sharpeners. Try this Duo-Sharp diamond sharpening stone, you'll be amazed at its performance and durability!
This DMT whetstone features a double-sided diamond plate and Hardcoat coating for impeccable blade care:
600 medium-grit yellow face: ideal for making an edge functional. This is the medium grit par excellence for regular knife sharpening. It offers a good compromise between abrasiveness and polish. This means you can maintain the performance of your blade without removing too much material.
1200 fine-grain white face: perfect for finer work. This grit is generally used to polish and refine the edge for an exemplary finish.
This stone also comes with a non-slip base. This enables you to work efficiently on a workbench. This prevents the stone from slipping.
Recommendations for use :
Avoid using oil during sharpening. Dry sharpening or sharpening with a little water is recommended for a clean, crisp finish. Alternatively, you can dry-sharpen your knives.
Place the whetstone on its base. Gently raise one side of the stone so that steel debris slides off easily. Now start sharpening your knife at an angle of 15° to 20°. Once you've found the right position, move back and forth, maintaining a constant sharpening angle. As you work, apply slight pressure when you push the knife away from you and when you pull it back towards you. Do the same on the other side of the blade.
After sharpening, rinse the diamond plate and clean it with a soft brush . Then wipe dry with a dry cloth and leave the stone to dry at room temperature, out of direct sunlight.
