Description

Let's talk about the model:

This whetstone comes from the Cerax range, which features stones fired at very high temperatures, making them more resistant to the risk of cracking. They are also pleasant to use.

It has two sides:

-White face #320: this thick grit is used to roughen a dull cutting edge, to remove waste accumulated on the surface of the cutting edge.

-Brick face #800: this grit oscillates between thick and medium. It is used to roughen a wire that has already been cleaned, to gently bring it to a finer grit.

How to use your stone :

Soak the stone 5 minutes before use. You can reapply water to the surface of the stone during sharpening, when you feel it's necessary. You can do this directly by hand, or with a pipette, which is even more precise!

After a few moments' use, you'll notice a small coloured sludge forming on the surface of the stone, and this is perfectly normal. This "sludge" is even essential, as it helps to sharpen the knife, so don't clean it during the process.

After use, you can rinse the surface and clean it with a soft brush. Wipe with a dry cloth, then leave to dry in a room at room temperature (keep out of direct sunlight for faster drying).

Accessories for ease of use:

A small white Nagura stone (approx. 6.5 x 1.8 x 1 cm) is supplied with the stone. This is used to create the famous mud that facilitates the stone's action.

Note that the two sides of the stones are glued together by a black base, making them easy to handle.

A box allows you to store it, but it can also be used as a sharpening stand when in use, or as a small basin for soaking the face you want before use. The box also has a space for a small Nagura stone. Its black feet are removable.

Additional information: the dimensions of the stone may vary by a few millimetres, and its weight by a few grams, but this is perfectly normal.

Very good stone sets

Great stone, effective for rebuilding a dull blade, then finish with a 1000 stone in the case of steel hardness up to 58, and for very hard, quality steel do after this stone, 1000 then 3000.
Top quality.

Don't hesitate, go for it!
The ideal combo.

... because of its versatility in sharpening a wide range of cutting tools. 320 grit to restore a damaged edge; and 800 grit for more than sufficient sharpness for most knives.
Perfect

It's from Suehiro, so there's nothing to complain about in terms of quality. Perfect for me to use the 320 grit to quickly give a sharp edge to damaged knives, the 800 simply allows me to finish sharpening, which is more than enough for me after a strop. For some knives, I sometimes finish with a 3000 that I bought as a complement.
