The Spyderco P'kal folding knife was developed in collaboration with renowned self-defense expert Craig Douglas, otherwise known as "Southnarc". "P'kal" comes from the Visayan dialect of the Philippines and means "to tear". Indeed, the word has a double meaning, as it is a type of Filipino martial arts.
Spyderco P'kal will win you over with a blade made from CPM S30V stainless steel. This is a martensitic steel with a high chromium and vanadium content for greater resistance to abrasion. The blade has a highly original shape with a pointed curve for impressive cutting power.
The handle is designed in black G10 for greater ergonomics and comfort in use. Spyderco has developed this folding knife for reverse use, with a finger choil on the top of the handle that holds the little finger when gripping.
Ball Bearing Lock - This folding knife features a strong ball bearing lock. It also features an Emerson opening mechanism, a system that allows convenient one-handed opening of the blade by holding onto the pocket while gripping the knife.
This Spyderco P'kal knife clips easily into the pocket using a steel wire pocket clip.
