The Wildsteer Spike is a knife designed in collaboration with DIMATEX. This French company specializes in the manufacture of textile equipment for law enforcement and emergency services.
The short, sturdy blade features a hexagonal hole and a bottle opener. It is made fromX46Cr13 stainless steel. It is coated with a black finish that enhances its resistance to corrosion. Its Rockwell hardness of 59-60HRC ensures good edge retention while remaining easy to sharpen. And since it has a mixed cutting edge, i.e. partially serrated, it is perfectly suited to cutting fibrous materials.
The knife's symmetrical black tactiprene handle features two rotating notches for exceptional maneuverability. The pommel at the end serves as a glass breaker.
The knife features an integrated snap-fastener on each side of the handle. The DIMATEX sheath sold with the Spike protects the glass-breaking pommel while holding the knife securely in place. In addition, multiple MOLLE loops enable vertical or horizontal carrying at multiple points.
In 2004, Edouard de BUYER founded Wildsteer, combining his passion for archery, blacksmithing and engineering. The company's reputation quickly took off in France, Europe and the USA, thanks to the exceptional features and innovation of its first knife, also named Wildsteer.
Wildsteer knives are produced entirely in France, in a region between Thiers, known as the cutlery capital, and Saint-Étienne, known as the design capital. The brand draws inspiration from the manufacturing techniques and arts of these two cities, while integrating modern production methods into the creation of its knives.
