André Verdier is a brand of kitchen knives whose production workshop is located in the capital of French cutlery: the town of Thiers. For nearly 2 centuries, the cutlery factory, originally known as "La Botte Courronnée", has perpetuated the ancestral expertise of master cutlers who have passed on their know-how from generation to generation. Today, André Verdier's 2 grandsons run the cutlery business. The family business is constantly innovating to modernize the brand and offer knives perfectly suited to the needs of chefs.
The brand's primary aim is to maintain and protect French cutlery production techniques, and since 2012 it has been awarded the "Entreprise du patrimoine vivant" label.
This paring knife is part of the monobloc range. The special feature of this range is that the knives are made from a single piece of steel, in other words, they are 100% forged. This paring knife is made from 1.4116 steel, a high-grade stainless steel (58HRC). You can feel the knife's quality simply by holding it in your hand, at its rather heavy weight. The knife undergoes cryogenic heat treatment in a vacuum. The developed guard protects your fingers during cutting.
The one-piece handle features sleek, modern lines that will appeal to the most demanding cooks. The brand logo is discreetly engraved on the end of the handle.
The plastic protector supplied with the knife can be reused if you don't have a blade guard or block to store your knives.
We recommend washing your knife by hand with the soft side of a sponge, then wiping it dry with a cloth. Cutting power is guaranteed for 10 years under normal conditions of use and sharpening. The cutting edge is maintained with a Sharpening steel on a daily basis, and sharpened with a more abrasive tool such as a stone from time to time.
