RH PREYDA medium-grained Arkansas whetstone + wooden case

Arkansas stone is the most widely used stone in the cutlery world! This RH PREYDA brand stone's medium grit enables you to maintain your blades.

This stone is made from a rock called novaculite, a micro-crystalline quartz found only on the American continent. This material is extremely robust, making the stone highly resistant to impact and wear. Its grit is medium, equivalent to 800/1000 grit, so you can both recover blades that are starting to lose their sharpness, and maintain your blades on a more regular basis.

An attractive wooden case is supplied with the stone, so that it can be stored away from shock and moisture once use is over, to prevent damage. What's more, a black silicone holder is also included to enable you to place the stone on a non-slip surface, to secure your sharpening.

Arkansas stones are so-called "oil stones", meaning they must be used with sharpening oil for best results. It's also possible to use them with water, but if you've started with oil, you'll have to continue that way. On the other hand, it is possible to start with water and then switch to oil.

This Arkansas stone comes in two sizes:

- 20 x 5 x 1.3cm and 23cm box.

- 25 x 5 x 1.3cm and 28cm case

The stone is made from a variety of quartz from different quarries. As a result, each stone has a unique appearance. The photos are therefore not contractual (the stone may be of different shades, and the colors shown in the photos are not exhaustive). Instructions for use are also supplied with the box.
