The CRKT M16-04KS knife is a tribute to Kit Carson, a famous American designer. Kit Carson made a world-famous opening system famous: the flipper. The flipper is a spur on the back of the blade that you press with your finger to open the blade.
The knife handle measures 13.6cm. It is made of 2Cr13 steel, a solid alloy that resists corrosion and shock (physical or temperature ). There are 4 holes along the handle, as well as other small holes, which make the knife lighter because there is less material. On the reverse side of the handle, a clip is integrated for carrying your knife during outdoor outings.
The Tanto-shaped blade measures approximately 9.8cm. It is made of stainless steel, and more precisely of Swedish steel known as Sandvik steel, renowned for its ease of sharpening and good cutting edge. The black coating provides additional protection for the blade against external aggression. 2 opening systems are integrated: the famous flipper which acts as a finger guard once the blade is open, and the lug placed on the blade. A simple thumb movement (one-handed) tilts the blade. The blade is locked by the Framelock system, a highly secure system in which the entire structure of the handle rests on the blade to prevent it from closing.
