If you're looking for a survival knife that combines strength, efficiency and optimized design, the ESEE 5 5PDE-005 knife is for you. Affectionately dubbed the "sharp crowbar" by connoisseurs, this knife is a true survival companion.
Originally designed to help pilots escape from plane wrecks, it's built to withstand the most extreme situations. Whether you're splitting wood, digging a shelter or preparing dinner in the wilderness, the ESEE 5 is your ally for all perilous moments.
The blade of the Esee 5PDE-005 is made of 1095 carbon steel, with a hardness of 55-57HRC. This alloy offers the advantage of being easy to sharpen even in survival conditions. Its only weakness? Sensitivity to corrosion. But ESEE has thought of everything by protecting it with a tough traction coating, making it even more resistant to the elements. However, you'll still need to maintain the blade by cleaning it by hand and wiping it dry immediately afterwards. As a preventive measure, you can also oil it from time to time with mineral oil.
The ESEE 5 is equipped with a 3D G10 handle. Goodbye flat, angular handles, hello ergonomics! Precision-sculpted 3D handles ensure a comfortable, secure grip. With their gripping grooves, they enable perfect control of the blade, making the ESEE 5 just as pleasant to hold for everyday tasks as for demanding outdoor work.
This 5PDE-005 knife comes witha high-quality zytel sheath. Modular, it features a steel belt clip, but can also accommodate other types of clip such as Tek-Loks or MOLLE.
