This sublime Essences Creations magnet bar lets you arrange your favorite knives with elegance, so you can keep them close at hand. It is handcrafted by Romain Abeille, a talented craftsman with a passion for wood. Working on a single bar takes many days, but the result is as good as it gets.
The bar is made from curly birch. Romain selects the finest trunks to highlight the wood's burls and veins. Burls are the various knots visible on a slice of wood. The origin of a burl varies: a burl can be produced by an insect bite, a wound in the wood, a localized influx of sap... That's why each board is unique and has its own story to tell!
Curly birch grain is unique to each magnet bar. Slightly darker than the color of the wood, they provide a beautiful, refined contrast.
The top surface of the bar has been burned using the Japanese Shu Sugi Ban technique. What does this technique involve? This method, also known as Yakisugi, involves burning solid wood to increase its strength. This technique was originally used on houses to protect them from harsh weather conditions.
Carbonizing wood not only protects it from fire, but also from insects and mildew!
As well as having a real function, the Shu Sugi Ban brings an aesthetic plus to the magnet bar.
For an impeccable finish, each magnet bar is polished to a soft, pleasant touch. Finally, the craftsman's logo is pyrographed on the right-hand corner of each bar, adding a touch of authenticity and originality.
The powerful neodymium magnets are located on the back of the bar. They are nickel-coated and rustproof, then cast into the resin. Each knife slot has 2 magnets. As a result, the blade of your knife is perfectly pressed against the magnetic bar.
This magnetic bar is suitable for holding 6 kitchen knives.
To secure the magnet bar to the wall, use the two side slots to insert the fasteners (fastening system not supplied).
Please note that the wood used here comes from a certified responsible source.
