A pocket knife that tells a story
The Le Fidèle “L’Âme d’Emma” folding knife, crafted from birch wood, is more than just a tool: it is a handcrafted piece carefully crafted in the Thiers region, the historic cradle of French cutlery. It combines high-quality steel with fine wood and embodies a tradition of craftsmanship passed down through several generations. This model pays tribute to Emma, the daughter of Le Fidèle’s owner and his wife, Thomas and Pauline Boitel, and reflects a subtle blend of performance, refinement, and authenticity. Furthermore, “L’Âme d’Emma” is a palindrome and can be read both ways.
A blade designed for performance
This knife features an 8.9 cm blade made of Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, a Swedish steel renowned for its purity and reliability. With a hardness of approximately 57 HRC, it offers excellent cutting performance while remaining easy to sharpen. This balance ensures a long-lasting edge and good impact resistance.
The Drop Point profile, characterized by a lowered tip and a slightly rounded spine, ensures excellent control during precise cuts while providing increased strength at the tip. It’s a versatile profile that makes the knife equally effective in the kitchen, for everyday use, and for outdoor activities. Each blade is meticulously polished, ensuring a sharp edge and a flawless finish.
An elegant and sturdy handle
The 9.5 cm birch handle gives this knife a unique aesthetic appeal. Each piece features a different natural grain pattern, making every knife a one-of-a-kind piece. Lightweight and comfortable to hold, birch wood offers natural ergonomics and a warm feel.
Its light color and natural hues evolve over time, enhancing its unique character. Each handle is precisely fitted using punches. The grip is ergonomic and secure.

Our Care and Use Tips
